Projects > Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial
POUNDS had the honor and privilege to build the auxiliary building at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall. This was a design-build, ground-up construction project. The auxiliary building houses the gift shop, public restrooms, US Park Ranger stations, and the mechanical/electrical rooms that control the entire site. The building has a glass facade, and the rear of the building features the same stone featured throughout the memorial. The interior boats of high-end finishes such as a granite counter-top; a stone wall engraved with donors and coporate partners' names; custom millwork; and a drop-down drywall ceiling.
