The 63,000 square foot Deanwood Community Center and Library, which delivered in 2010, is an innovative collaboration project between the D. C. Department of Parks and Recreation and D. C. Public Library to provide residents a variety of services in restricted public space.   The new facility is designed and constructed as a Green building to meet LEED Silver certification. The project includes an indoor leisure swimming pool, locker rooms, gymnasium, game room, 10,000 square foot library, childcare facilities, dedicated senior services area, kitchen, and community and multipurpose rooms.  In addition, the new library and community center share space for a computer lab, senior rooms, tutoring rooms, and community meeting rooms. POUNDS managed the HVAC and plumbing services in support of this $33 million project.
